waiting on wednesday: THE DARKEST HOUR

"Waiting on Wednesday," a meme started by Breaking the Spine highlights books that readers can't wait to get their paws on.

I cannot wait to read The Darkest Hour by Caroline Tung Richmond. I will never tire of WWII books, and I very much enjoyed her previous alternate history, The Only Thing to Fear. Since the story is focused on espionage activities, I am doubly excited to read it!

It won't be released until July 26th, and I'm sure I'll be pre-ordering it before then.

The Goodreads description reads as follows:

Six months ago, I was deployed to German-occupied France to gather intelligence and eliminate Nazi targets.

My current mission: Track down and interrogate a Nazi traitor about a weapon that threatens to wipe out all of Western Europe. Then find and dismantle the weapon before Hitler detonates it. But the deeper I infiltrate, the more danger I’m in. Because the fate of the free world hangs in the balance, and trusting the wrong person could cause millions of lives to be lost. Including my own
